In theft margin: C Dunkley Will In the name of God amen I Catherine Dunkley of the county of Southampton being of sound & disposing mind and memory do make this my last will & testament in a manner & form following. First: I recommend my soul to almighty God & trust for its salvation on the mediation of my blessed Saviour. My body I recommend to the discression(sic) of my executors hereafter named my worldly estate I dispose as follows. I give & bequeath unto my brother in law Moses Dunkley the plantation whereon I now live containing two hundred & fifty acres or thereabouts to him the said Moses Dunkley his heirs & assigns forever. I also give to the said Moses Dunkley the sum of fifteen pounds & I do hereby order & direct that my negro woman Jenny /who I purchased of John Ingram/ be sold by my executors & the money arising by the sale thereof together with the said fifteen pounds be paid by the said executor to the said Moses Dunkley. . Also I give & bequeath to Ralph Dunkley son of Moses Dunkley the lands & plantation commonly called Hodges & purchased by my late husband of one John Hodges containing about one hundred & fifty acres to hold to the said Ralph Dunkley his heirs & assigns forever. Also I give & bequeath unto Thomas Joyner son of Jonathan Joyner my negro man slave named Mial. Also I give unto Mathew Joyner my negro slave Joyce & her child Sarah & all their future increase _ Also I give & bequeath to my brother Thomas Joyner my negro slave Sam _ Also I give unto my brother Joel Joyner my negro slave named Jenny _ Also I give unto my uncle Benjamin Joyner six pounds current money. All the residue & remainder of my estate of what nature or kind soever whether real personal or mixt I give devise & bequeath to be equally divided among the following persons Cherry Boykin, Patience Hodges, Elizabeth Boykin, Ralph Dunkley & the five children of Jona Joyner to wit Patience, Alexander, Mary, David & Jonathan which said five children are not to take respectively or severally but to be accounted as one only of the residuary legatees. . . . . . . . .
